Small-acreage landowners in particular often struggle to access reliable, affordable seedlings to make their projects possible. At the same time, public, private, and philanthropic players are becoming increasingly aware of this gap and experimenting with ways to close it.

New Leaf Climate is a public benefit corporation accelerating nature-based solutions to climate change through innovative finance, research, and strategic advisory. NLC has partnered with the US Forest Service to map and coordinate funding efforts towards nurseries to build a more resilient national nursery system. By convening funders, aligning resources, and improving data transparency, this initiative aims to reduce duplication, strengthen supply chains, and unlock capital for nurseries across the country.
